Dr. George Knaysi is an attending emergency physician at Lahey Clinic and an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at UMass Chan–Lahey School of Medicine. His academic interests include narrative medicine and the medical humanities, particularly the representation of medical emergencies in literature and art. Drawing on his public health training, he also maintains an interest in health care policy, research methods, and data analysis. He serves as treasurer and a member of the national board of directors of Physicians for Social Responsibility, a Nobel Peace Prize-winning organization that focuses on nuclear disarmament. Outside of medicine, he enjoys writing poetry and has a lifelong interest in music.
