Dr. Gillian McCafferty is Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs and a senior emergency physician at Lahey Clinic. She is passionate about physician wellness and professional fulfillment, medical education, and quality improvement. She is actively involved in hospital leadership through numerous multidisciplinary committees and initiatives, including the Medical Executive Committee and Lahey Clinic's Joy in Medicine work group, which is pursuing AMA Joy in Medicine recognition — all part of her broader commitment to advancing physician engagement, well-being, and professional fulfillment.

Outside of medicine, Dr. McCafferty can usually be found near the ocean, taking in sunsets on Nantucket and exploring the New England coast with her two Labrador retrievers, Hank and Gertie. She also enjoys dabbling in watercolor painting, hosting Mahjong and crafternoons with friends, and playing classical piano.
