Karen Makhoul

Hi! I'm Karen Makhoul, a medical student at UMass Chan Medical School spending my research year in Dr. Senna's research lab. I'm especially interested in the psychosocial side of hair loss: how it affects identity, confidence, and quality of life. I'm also interested in working on therapies that can meaningfully change outcomes for patients in an often-overlooked area of medicine.

Outside of medicine, I love dancing and have recently started exploring singing. I'm always up for an adventure, traveling, trying new foods, or spending time in the sun (with sunscreen, of course!).
